Decisions, decisions....
We are having one hell of a time trying to decide on a name for the baby. We actually have a boys name picked out, if for some reason this baby ends up being male. (although I've been told twice now it's a girl, and am going for another ultrasound tomorrow and will no doubt ask again, lol) Anyway, people keep asking and asking, what is the name, and I keep dodging them and saying we haven't decided, but we had one picked out. Then I opened my big mouth and told an acquaintance what it was and she bluntly said, "I hate it". I'm like, what the hell, who says that to someone. I wasn't very impressed at the comment. I had to do all I could from telling her off about her kids names that all rhyme. So now that made me think if she hates it, is it a bad name?? Will my child be tortured later on because of her name. I thought it was a pretty plain name with little room for name calling. And I know how ridiculous this would be to change a name based on one person's opinion, but no one has really said anything like that's nice, they just say oh yah. Here I am with a little over 3 weeks left until my due date and no name. At least I have a month to decide after the baby is born on what to call her. Hope she wont' be referred to as Baby Girl for her first few weeks of life. |

OK, you've got to email me the name you are considering; I'm dying to know. I promise I won't say anything rude. My email is chastity779@yahoo.com
If it helps, the names we were considering but didn't choose were Ella, Aslynn, Lana, and Alaura.
I'd like to know your chosen name as well!
We had our last name picked out prior to the pregnancy and although people complained about it I refused to budge. The two that hated it most now say they love it. No matter what, a name usually suits a child. You know, unless you're planning on calling her Bertha or something.
Oh, and FYI, there were 114 girls called Baby on the Alberta Vital Statistics list for last year. That's an awful lot of indecisive parents!
Don't go by what other people say (especially if her kids' names rhyme)! People will get over it. Almost everyone has turned their noses up to our girls name that we like, but they will be okay. Kids turn out to suit their names most of the time. I'm sure your names are great!
well if you wanna here something funny... our kid's name is going to spell something... like LEGO, EGGO, HALO... hehehe... and most of the name we liked are not used or popular now... which bugs the snot out of me... but I would love to know which names you liked... the names we like are because of the meaning of the name... my email is owens1299 @ dejazzd. com
You sound just like me. We have NO name (tons of girls names...but we're having a boy!). And we've decided to not tell anyone ANY names until the kid is born.
Maybe you should tell me what boys names you have picked out. I'm desperate for suggestions.
Although we do have a name that we're *pretty* close to choosing. But I know everyone in my family will hate it.
GOOD LUCK!
DONT FEEL BAD WE DONT HAVE A NAME EITHER SARAH. WE HAVE A GIRL NAME PICKED OUT BUT NOO BOYS. BOYS ARE HARD.
don't ya just hate people with no taste? I would love to know your name and I sure it is a fine name! Picking a name is no one else's business but your family's. Go with your heart.
If you like it and you have considered that he'll have the name forever, then go with it. But since you're having a girl anyway, you don't need to worry about that name! It's hard. It's hard when you know there's even one person who doesn't like it. My brother doesn't like the name we picked, but when he told me what names he liked, it's no wonder he doesn't like "normal" names!
There is NO name that every single person will like.
Shame on your "friend" for being so rude.
If it's a name you really like, then go for it and don't listen to anyone else.
Wow, that was rude of your friend. I'm dying to know what it was too. But if you really liked it, you should stick with it. Who gives a crap what anyone else but you think? They'll all come to love it when there's an adorable baby attached to that name, and they won't even think twice about it.
