My family of 5

Lately I have had the worst case of insomnia. I'll fall asleep around 9-10pm and around 2am I'll wake up and end up staying awake for about 1-2hrs. Ugh, this is horrible. I feel like crap in the morning and am still exhausted. If this is natures way to prepare me, it's getting old. I already know what I'm in for. LOL.

Thank god someone else is having this also!

I've woken up at 3 am four nights in a row. Usually I can go back to sleep around 6 am for two hours, but this morning I had an early doctor's appointment and had to just stay up. I'm dragging today.

I'm like this most of the time, actually.
I generally attribute it to stress. When I have a great deal of stress and heavy things occupying my mind, I can't be still. I wake up and start making mental lists. Good times.
The armchair Freud in me says: new baby, moving house, moving in with in-laws = stress.
My OB always said a Benadryl would help me sleep towards the end of the pregnancy...

True, I guess it is necessary before the first one arrives, but a seasoned expert like yourself probably needs the sleep more than the 'training'.

I had awful insomnia with my second pregnancy starting at 30 weeks. I took one or two Benadryl every night. I hated doing that, but it's the only thing that would work. I knew that I would need my sleep. :)
