My family of 5

Sad

So hubby and I are pretty excited about this new baby coming, so happy that I decided to tell 2 of my closest friends.

Here's thier reaction:

1. Yah right, hahahahaha, ok, whatever. (basically she didnt' believe me, so I just went along with her and said, naaahhh of course I'm not)

2. Are you crazy?!?!! Don't you have enough??? Why would you have more? Why aren't you or hubby fixed.

This one made me feel so bad last night that I told her that the test must have been a false positive and that I started my period and that I'm going to my Dr. to get a tubal done.

How's that for support????
Congratulations would be a start.

And all is well so far with me. Just very upset with my so called "friends".

Are you serious? Jeez Emma, I am so sorry. That is AWFUL. I would never ever say that to someone, especially someone that is supposed to be a close friend!!

God. Well, I may not know you, but I am excited for your family. It IS your family and only YOU know what is right for your family, be it 10 kids or just 1.

Gah. Why must people suck so bad??
Screw them..don't let them get you down!

Wow, that's not very nice at all. Some people need to learn to keep their opinions to themselves & be supportive.

Sad to come from people you consider "friends". Like nailgirl my "friends" and family reacted that way when I told people I was expecting my 4th I wonder what they would say also if they new I wish I hadn't gotten my tubes tied and really wish I could have another.

My sil and brother get that too. She is pregnant with their fifth right now and people are just rude about it.

My thoughts? They are great parents, their kids are great, and I love having neices and nephews. Maybe they drive older cars. Maybe the college funds won't be overflowing. Who cares? They are well provided for, and above all, so incredibly loved.

Congratulations again to you and your family. All of your family. Each and every beautiful child.

I'm so sorry that your "friends" are being so unsuportive! It's a wonderful thing that you are pregnant again!

That's terrible! Know what, though? I know a fair share of people who have 9, even 11 kids. Ray & I had even talked about having 7 (I think now we're down to 5). :)

Awwww, few people have enough love, patience, and selflessness to raise 5 wonderful children, so although it's a blessing to you, they are just thinking of how they would handle it. In hindsight, they probably regret their reactions, but try to just appreciate this blessing. You know it's right for you, which they'll understand in time.

How shitty! Could have been a little more supportive! I think it's great, I'm so excited for you! I read all through your last pregnancy, can't wait to hear all the updates again this time around!

Didn't their mothers ever tell them, "If you don't have something nice to say..."? Those comments were rude and unnecessary.

Oh man I am sorry. I hate it when you don't get the response you are looking for. You have as many kids as you want, and forget about them!

I can't *believe* that someone would react in those ways. Especially *good* friends. Seriously. Shannon's right; children are a blessing from above. This child was *meant* to be yours. I'm very happy for you! I can't believe what your MIL said when you announced your pregnancy with A.! That's nuts. I worried that my parents wouldn't be as excited over our second child ... man, was I wrong! BTW, I can't believe that A. is almost 1 year!!! When did that happen?!?

That is so terrible! I agree with the other posts. Babies are a blessing. There are so many people without them and if you choose to have 10 then that's YOUR choice! Funny how people always have an opinion about some one elses life and choices. Some of the happiest families I know are large. Enjoy your family - no matter what anyone else says.

Darling, I came across your post via other blogs, and I don't know much about you, and I don't know how many babies you already have. But I can tell you one thing-- NO ONE who says things like that should be considered a friend. I am pregnant with my first right now, and probably last, since I believe in adoption, and will probably adopt two in the next few years, so that does not leave much more room to have more of my own, but for god's sake children are a blessing, and their are YOUR choice... if you want to mother a football team--it is your choice and right.. especially in this country!
To tell you to get fixed... this is not only rude, but exceptionally inappropriate.
Dream, have babies, love them, and let your heart be overfilled with joy every day of your life!
Love,
Alexandra

That's terrible. Really awful. I can't believe they said that to you!!

I'm LDS, so people love to make jokes about me having like 8 kids. And I do have 5 brothers and sisters, and so does my husband actually. So your family sounds small! Ha ha

Try not to think about what those really rude "friends" said.

Im really excited for you sweet.
You don't even know me, but I am happy for you. As a woman who has no kids, (or even a man to help make some!) but would absolutely love a whole bundle of them, I completely understand how exciting and wonderful it is.

CONGRATULATIONS!

Obviously your friends aren't as strong and fabulous as you because they'd freak out in the same situation. You show 'em!
