URGHHHHHHHH!

That urgh, stands for totally unhappy with my freakin' headcold. My sinuses are completely stuffed up and I can't taste, smell or enjoy food. LOL. Not much of a bad thing I'll say, but ya know what I mean.

My boy went for his gastroscope yesterday. I did the whole signing of the consent form and had to listen to the pediatrician's blurb of it. I particularly cringed when he mentioned "perforated bowel" as a possible complication. Moreso, since I have heard of this happening to someone around this area just months earlier, and died. So naturally, I'm going to worry, who the hell wouldn't? The anesthetist is hilarious, his specialty is with children, so he gained my son's trust easily. The whole procedure was maybe 30 min. The Dr.s told me he did fine, all went well and that the bowel looks good. He did a biopsy and the results should be in within 2-3 wks. So that's when I'll know if we change his diet or not. I did realize this, my son is one cranky kid when he wakes up from anesthetic. He had tubes in his ears 3 yrs ago and the same thing, shaking his fists, and telling me he's mad at us. Anyway, after 30 min of that he was back to himself. Also when he had sedative for his teeth (had caps, and crowns put in 2 yrs ago) again, total bear!

So my excitement for the night is GREY'S ANATOMY!!!!!!!! I can't freakin' wait!~ I hope I am not disappointed by this episode. Truly there is nothing worse than when you go to watch a show and then you are all hyped for it, only to be let down.

I see the resposes to the previous list. Isn't it funny how we assume the "worst" one of all is ourselves. Well i know I certainly assumed that from 2 other lists and surprisingly it wasn't mine mentioned when the truth was revealed. I'll let ya's all know who's who in the next post, but #15 is a blog named JenH (not jenhen) that I started reading a 1 1/2 yrs ago, before I started my blog. I was soooo interested in reading her journey through TTC to difficutly with infertility to her 2 children. It was such a great blog, but since she's had her 2nd child, it's just not as great as it was. Hence the reason it now bores me. I will probably always check in to see her boys, as it's more out of habit I believe to check it.

You You Meme

This meme has been done by a number of bloggers I have been to. So here's my version.

1. I often wonder if you have nothing better to do than to complain.

2. I read your site daily wondering if you'll update, but you never do.

3. I think you are an amazing mom and I wish I had your patience.

4. I believe we have a lot in common.

5. I read your site religiously; but you don't even know mine exists.

6. I cried when I read your post about having your son, who was born still.

7. I am praying now for you and your family, hoping that this baby will make it term and your health will stay strong.

8. I am so happy that you are doing well now, I hope your hubby is able to be there for your delivery of your son.

9. I wish I could write the way you do. Your posts are always so interesting.

10. Your son is adorable, I think he would make a good match for my baby.

11. Your posts are hilarious, I enjoy reading them. I think hubby can hear me laughing in the living room from some of your vivid tales. :)

12. I hope you get the baby you have been longing for, for so long.

13. Your girls are beautiful, I love reading updates on how they are progressing.

14. I have been connected to you, from another site, since before I knew about blogging. We were due 2 days apart.

15. Your blog bores me, but I continue to read. It's like an addiction.

16. I wish I had your sense of humor.

17. I admire you, as you raise your son. I hope this pregnancy progresses well.

I suppose I'll make this post a long one. I haven't had a long one in quite some time.

First off I'll write about Grey's. I am totally shocked. Now I can't imagine them killing off the main character but if you go to Grey Matter and read Shonda's blog entry it may not be impossible. Hubby and I still think this next episode she'll be clinically dead, talk to Denny and the other dude, the whole while she'll be flatlined, but in reality it will only be a matter of a minute and then cough, come to and all will be well. OR she will actually die and remain a narrator for the show. Hubby heard that a cast member is supposedly going to die, on that site there, "grey matter" Shonda hates Izzy's character, so hell maybe Mer will get better and Izzy will go. Who knows, but like one commenter put it, too bad we couldn't fast forward this week to see the next episode :)

In other news my boy is finally booked for his gastroscope to diagnose his celiac disease next week. I got the call today. The receptionist said to be prepared for a long wait. I suppose with anethesia and the whole gag reflex returning may take a bit. Great I have to work at 3pm that day. Hopefully he'll be out by then, if not, we'll have to make other arrangements.

Now here's the first part of a meme i took from Chas since I only have time to answer it in 2 parts. :P

1. Are your parents married or divorced?
My parents have been hatefully married for 35 years. I have no clue why they stayed together. All my childhood I have heard threats of divorce and whatnot. I am sure they may have some deep rooted source of love for each other. If they stayed for our sake, it didn't do us any favors.

2. Are you a vegetarian?
Not a chance. I love steak, turkey, chicken, fish, hell any meat product I'll eat. Sorry vegetarians. I love meat!

3. Do you believe in Heaven?
Yes, I believe in Heaven and Hell. I believe after being saved when you die you go on to Heaven. From what I've read in the Bible it's a wonderful place and can't wait to get there. In my afterlife that is. I do enjoy life here too :)

4. Have you ever come close to dying?
No. Only thing I've ever have remotely sickening is a bad case of Pancreatitis. If it wasn't treated when it was I suppose I could have died from it. The pain was so bad that hell I couldn't wait any longer for treatment.

5. What jewelry do you wear 24/7?My wedding band and engagement ring.

6. Favorite time of day?Oh hell going to sleep and getting off duty. Of course spending time with the kids too.

7. Do you eat the stems of broccoli? No only the top.

8. Do you wear makeup? No, I'm too lazy to apply it. People ask if I wear mascara or eye shadow, but I don't.

9. Ever have plastic surgery? No, but I may someday.....

10. If you did have plastic surgery, what you you do?
Hello, Tummytuck, and breast Implants!!! Pregnancy 5 times and breastfeeding 3 times has taken a serious toll on my body!~

11. What do you wear to bed?
Pajamas, I can't stand not wearing them. It has to be short sleeve top with long pants. I can't go any other way.

12. Have you ever done anything illegal?
Yes, speeding, smoking pot, WAYYYYY long ago and drank underage.

13. Can you roll your tongue?
Yep. Do you know that is a dominant gene, if you can, your child will most likely be able to too!

14. Do you tweeze your eyebrows?
No but they need to be done. I got them waxed a few months ago. Listen, I don't do anything out of the way in terms of grooming myself.

15. What kind of sneakers?
Adidas. That's what I wear to work.

16. Do you believe in abortions?
Yes, am I for them, no. I personally wouldn't get one. Hence the baby at age 17.

17. What is your hair color?
Blonde.

18. Future child’s name?
Well I don't know, there may never be future children. But I love the name Claire and Jacinda and Nolan for a boy.

19. Do you snore?
I have been told I do. :)

20. If you could go anywhere in the world where would it be?
Somewhere warm, with my family, this -28 celcius windchill is for the birds!

21. Do you sleep with stuffed animals?
No, hubby and the baby sometimes.

22. If you won the lottery, what would you do first?
Build a house! We need more room. Then I'd pay off my loans.

23. Gold or silver?
Gold is nice but silver is also very pretty.

24. Hamburger or hot dog?
Sometimes I crave hot dogs, so I'll say that.

25. Only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Chocolate, chocolate, and more chocolate. :P

I did it!

I switched to the new blogger. It was too damn hard to avoid it, I was trying to log on for a new post and the damn thing kept telling me to switch, so I gave in!

Lets see, the trip was fun. We went to NB and visited my grandmother, whom I haven't seen in over a year. It was great for her to see the children too. Last time she saw them my 3rd child was 2 months old, she's now 5 1/2 yrs. So she enjoyed the company.

We did some serious shopping, spending money I don't have, but hell we won't be going again for another year so that is my justification.

I tried to post pictures but my damn computer won't recognize the usb port for the camera. Do any of you know how to fix that? Cause I don't. :(

I had a great Valentine's day. Hubby got me chocolates, mussels and strawberries with whip cream. We had a few drinks, played some cards and romantically I fell asleep! Those 2 night shifts I did took the life out of me, I'm still trying to recover.

Anyway, must go, Grey's is coming on.

*Edited*
HOLY CRAP DID YOU SEE THIS EPISODE????

Dumbe blonde moment #128784485

So, sitting home last night around 7:30pm, checking blogs, I get a phone call.

Hey, you are supposed to be to work.

Oops, can't believe I had a 12 hr night shift and totally didn't know about it. My mistake I wrote it down wrong. Of course I immediately went right in, but I don't know how I'll ever live this one down! lol

Work is so much more demanding than I ever expected.

It's not the physical demanding that I thought, it's the mental exhaustion. The floor I work on is basically orthopedics but at times we get a mixture of medical patients, as well as pallative. Anyway, most often the patients turn medical after they've had their hip fixed and then they can no longer walk the way they used to.

Anyway, I discovered this past week I couldn't work in pallative care. Oh my goodness. This sweet little old lady (94, full of lukemia) She was as smart as could be, telling me stories of her past. I would sit with her for hours, at night of course, so she wouldn't be alone. She was terrified to be by herself, and who the hell wouldn't be, she could die at any time. Anyway, she was too cute. Friday last week she passed away. How freakin sad! I know, I know, the whole boundary thing with patients and all but sometimes you just take to the sweet ones. Her family was so thankful to us and how we cared for and treated their mom. It's so nice to see people appreciate what you have done for their family.

Then you get assholes.

This one guy we had last week, well I had to chew the inside of my mouth to keep from saying something I so desparately wanted to say to him. He was ranting about how he wanted to be served food IMMEDIATELY. My job was to SERVE HIM NOW AND WHENEVER HE SAYS SO. Well shit, that's a surprise, don't count the 16 other patients that I am solely responsible for. Nope drop all things so you can wait on him and and foot. What a nutjob. Anyway, he's gone, thank God, it was a trying time on my behalf to keep my composure and stay professional.

Then there are the family members.

OH.MY.GOD. I would have to say this by far is the hardest. You just never know what is going on in people's lives, until you get up close and personal. I could go on and on about insane family members, demanding certain things for their mother or father. I just don't get it, the unit is staffed with 3 rn's and one 1 lpn. One of the rn does medication, so count them out. So there you have it, 3 nurses to 17 people. So when mom has to go to the bathroom right now, (this is the mom who won't stand on her legs after her hip was fixed last month) I'm supposed to drag her to the can as I break my back, yah right. Whatever. Mom can wait.... I need this job to pay my bills, mom can hold on a sec. URGH!

Overall though, I do like my job. Just these little annoyances that I have to work through and figure out how to not let them get to me. I'm sure that comes with experience, that or you just stop caring.

Anyway, change of topic, I do believe we may try this month. I'm on cd 9 so in the next few days I may ovulate, I may not, we may go for it, or we may not! It's so up in the air. We shall let whatever happens, happen.

Must go now, going on a mini-vacation. A much needed one. I'll post when I'm back. Take care all.

Sunday, February 04, 2007

Wow, I am still in disbelief hubby and I had the "talk". We were sitting here with the baby and he said, I can't believe this is our last child. The last time we will have a 9 month old (she's 10 mos on tuesday). I had said something like well it doesn't have to be... we could have another one. Then he said if you think you are up for it. So I guess that's a go, if we want to go for one more try. I am still debating, I don't want to have happen what just did. I don't think I could handle another loss, especially this soon after the twins. It still seems strange to even say that. I have had a period since the D&C. So we'll see. It's not to say it'll even work when we try.

I'm still trying to adjust to work, that place is certainly a zoo. I'm sure the more I'm there the better things will get. My main complaint is the co-workers. There aren't that many that like to work with others. That makes for a difficult place to be. The work is always the same, it's adjusting to the staff. urgh. I think I am resigning for my work at the nursing home. The director is too much of an ass. She's actually starting to take shifts from me now that I had been booked in to work in a few weeks. So instead of them letting me go, i should do it first.

Oh well must go, baby is looking for me.

Saturday, February 03, 2007

Ok, sorry to torture you all. I had posted that last night then went to bed and had to get a few things in town today. So I have a couple of things to tell.

1. I got a permanent full time job, except it's in ortho nursing. I wish it were what I had an interview for, still waiting to hear on that one.

2. Hubby and I think, (the big word here is think) we may start ttc next month! I'll keep updates as to if we do go for the plunge or not. If I have another one, it'll be close to her so they will be close in age.

Anyway, did you see Grey's anatomy! I am shocked. I have heard that Calli is supposedly preggo in the show and doesn't know if it is George's or McSteamy's. Ok, that's it for now.

Psssst, can you keep a secret????
