My family of 5

Today is pancake day, which the kids love so that'll stuff them quite well for supper. They also got their report cards for this term. R did really well, with a lot of improvement from last report. She's in grade 4. E aka (the boy) he's in grade primary and he did really good too. So overall they both did great! YAY~

Tomorrow is another OB appointment. I'll be interested to know what position little miss has found her way into, because I feel movement farther down now then I used to. But I'm sure she's still head down. Still tons of time for her to get it right. Just as long as she doens't go posterior on me! Ack those were harder deliveries with alot of back labour. My last was a breeze since she was anterior. Muchhhhh easier. Anyway, still 6 wks left.

Nothing else is really going on, the weather here is crazzzzy cold. The windchill was -25 celcius this morning. Sure hope it gets a little milder this week!

34 weeks tomorrow. Wow, I can't get over the time passing. It seems so slow but actually it's going pretty darn fast. I keep complaining about how uncomfortable I am, my back, sick, blah blah, but I have to remind myself that it's only 6 more weeks until my due date. I don't really know this OB's preference on inducing, but generally they don't let you go much further than 10 days over, so I potentially only have about 7 weeks left of being pregnant. I told myself that's it, I have to enjoy this, because this will NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN! We just can't afford to have anymore kids. And really with both my hubby and I as nurses well it won't be easy with the shift work. So anyway, I just realized that's it, this is it, and it's kind of sad.

On a different topic, we had turkey dinner at the inlaws. My youngest came running over to the house, (basically we live in the woods and the neighbors are all family members) yikes, but they keep their distance. Anyway, little E runs over to tell us supper is almost ready, she runs in and says, "dey are cutting the tuuukey!!" she's so funny. And of course on our way home she wanted to walk through the field to race us home, and I of course was locked out. She didn't want any strangers coming in. hehe. Had to fight with her for about 10 minutes before she'd unlock it!

I Knew I Should Never Have Asked That Question!~

I previously asked, How could i get any bigger, well here it is, 2 wks later.

But HOW Mommy??

Last night, little E and I were laying down watching TV in my bedroom. The baby was moving all around so I took her hand and said, feel the baby moving. She hasn't felt her move before because whenever she'd put her hand on my stomach the baby would stop moving, of course, and E wasn't patient enough to sit and wait.

So last night she felt the baby move, her eyes got big and round and then she asked the question, "How did the baby get in your belly mommy?" hehe, I said God put her in. Now I am not about to explain things to a 4 yr old. Then she asked again, "But HOW Mommy??" I'm laughing at this point and told her the same thing, again this didn't satisfy her. So I told her to go ask her dad. She runs out to the living room and asks her dad the same question. Then she runs back in with a big grin on her face and says, "I know, it's magic, daddy told me so". LOL, what a kid!

Here's E, in the tub after she made a request to have a bubble bath, how cute.

Ugh is how I feel right now, seems I am in yet another flare up of my wonderful crohn's disease. I see my OB on Wednesday but I'm going to have to increase the prednisone before I see him. I just wish for once I were one of the 90% of people with this disease that gets better during pregnancy, ahh but I am of course, among the unfortunate that get much worse during pregnancy. BLAH!

Yesterday we went shopping and finally splurged on getting a new dining room table set. We decided since we are getting another family member we really do need a table set for at least 6. This one is great it has 4 chairs and a bench that the kids can sit across. I just can't get over all the room too, we are so farrr away from each other at the table, it's great. LOL.

Nothing much new going on here in my world. Running after kids as usual and doing the homework battle daily. I have been having some wonderful braxton hicks contractions the last few days and some of them have been pretty painful. Well painful enough to jog my memory on what the real thing feels like. I'm such a wimp.

By the way, have you seen I only have 47 days left, but who's counting.

50 Days to GO!

Yayyy, I'm a little excited.

Today was just about as uneventful as any other day in my life. I did however get some pics taken of the crib and bedding set. We are getting pretty antsy now waiting to see little miss. Hubby and I were discussing what else we needed to get, to be ready for the baby, and the only thing I can think of is some diapers and wipes and that kind of gear. I don't think I'm having a baby shower so I told him that we could start picking those things up in a couple of weeks. The only other thing that we absolutely need is a swing. It was my only savior with the last children. And of course, not like I have any of the stuff from my kids, because I GAVE IT ALL AWAY~! thinking that E was our last. Anyway, surprise! So a swing is on my mission for next week.

So I've decided that I am about the size of a beach whale. The whole intimacy thing is getting FAR too difficult. I keep wondering how the heck can he be attracted to this, and of course he puts on that goofy cute face and says, I always told you I thought you look so cute when you are pregnant. Ugh, just wish I felt cute. Ahh but such is life, I must try and enjoy these last weeks because this will never happen again for me.

Hubby told me this morning that when I was sound asleep, as he calls it, "in your coma" he was feeling little miss moving around and he told me that she's all over the place, feeling legs and whatever all over my belly. LOL. No sh** I said. That's what I've been telling ya for the last week. hehe.

HOW Can I possibly get any BIGGER?

I think it's self explanatory.

Kids Are So Cute

This morning I woke up, hugging my white goddess. UGH!
Anyway, E&E came in to find my laying in bed, all sick and feeling rotten after my morning routine (as it seems these days). They decided they were going to do something special for me. Remember they are age 4 & 6. So the baby says, We'll let you sleep mommy and be real good.
So I just lay here, because of course, I can't go to sleep knowing no one is watching them.

I hear some chairs moving across the kitchen floor and some more noise. Then they come in with a wonderful Cheese Whiz sandwich! It was so cute, the boy says, I made it just for you mom, that'll help you get better and tell my sister to be good (the one in my belly) hehe. They are so sweet. But the thoughts of eating that after heaving my guts, OH MY!

32 1/2 weeks

Yesterday I went to my OB visit, and I gained a shocking 5 lbs in the last 3 weeks! Ugh. Anyway, he was happy about it, I wasn't. Anyway, baby is still head down, he did a quick ultrasound and she had the hiccups, yet again. It was pretty cool though because you can see how big all the internal organs are getting, the heart and liver were huge, well compared to the 20 week ultrasound. LOL. Anyway, B/P was fine, still have some swelling, he thinks some of the weight could be fluid too, because of the steroids. I am down to 5 mg of prednisone a day and that seems to be holding me fine. I asked about the baby having to be weaned and he said, not with such a low dose, so that was a relief, and he also said I can nurse too with while on the low dose. So it was a pretty good appointment. And I passed my glucose test too!~ yay. Now my visits are every 2 weeks, and of course he's going away the end of March for a bit, just around when I am due, but there is a new female OB coming in his office to cover while he is gone.

My valentine's was cute, hubby let me sleep in and got the kids ready for school and dropped them off. Then around 10am he came in with some breakfast, on a plate and the plate said, "I love you" so he had the food arranged around it. It was cute. And then he rented me some "romantic" movies, LOL, yah right, Saw 2 and Written in Blood. He put on Saw 2 and the first 5 minutes I had to leave the room, I can't understand how he likes those gory disturbing movies. Overall it was a good day. Now he's gone back to work, I always miss him while he's gone.

32 Weeks Today!

I am officially 32 weeks today, and of course my morning sickness has come back with a vengance. Yep, it's starting to get old.

Anyway, had another wonderful storm here last night, got another 25cm of snow. And believe it or not, the highway out our way has not been plowed yet! and it's after 7pm here. I think that's a little ridiculous, but who am I to say anything.

Wednesday is yet another OB visit for me. I wonder how the weight thing is going, according to my scale I still haven't gained anything, hopefully mine is right :)

Almost 32 weeks

Well last night my hubby had to work a night shift, so when he came home this morning I figured I would take the kids out to spend the day with me so he could rest up for yet another 12 hour night shift tonight. My nephew had a birthday party today so that took up a few hours. Then we went shopping. I let the kids pick out the bedding set for the crib, they were really excited to do this. They have decided on a Care Bears theme. R&E are in love with care bears so that was just wonderful for them. I do find it boyish looking because of the colors, blue and yellow, but hey care bears are kinda girly anyway. They also found the mobile in the store to go with the sheet set. When we came home, they set it all up. They are getting pretty excited now about the new baby coming. They even went down to their room and picked out one of their own care bears to give to their new sister. Now all we need is the baby. :)

Oh the time is slowly going by. Nothing much new here other than the fact that I am a raging basket case. I can't believe how bad the hormones are kicking in now. Today for instance, I was watching a kids show and cried at it. Another thing, I was at the mall and forgot my receipt and had to have ID to return a sweater for my daughter, and of course didn't have any on me, well when I got to the car I actually cried. This has got to stop, and in a real hurry too.

Still can't decide on a crib set for the baby. We have been told twice that we are having a girl, but my stubborn hubby doesn't want to believe it so we have to go neutral, and his idea of neutral is blue, yellow and green. Hopefully we can make a decision together within the next few weeks. Anyone else tend to disagree with hubby more now? Anyway, I am going to blame it on the hormones for now!

Ever Have One of Those Days?

Since I've been off work now for over 2 weeks I decided it was time to finish filing for my unemployment. Here, we have a 2 week waiting period. This is totally foreign territory for me so I figured alright, I'll go online and I'll read all the steps and I'll get her done in about an hr.

Not that simple.
So I go online and I take my stub with my password and figure I'll tell them what they want to know. It has this part where it asks, did you have any earnings during this week in Jan. I was like well no, but I did receive wages, where the heck do I put that. So anyway, I fight with it some more and decide, I better call the toll free number. So I call the lady, and ask her about it and she said, don't but anything just say no. So that's easy enough, then I decided to ask about the whole filing for the 14 best week income. Oh my, never have I been so frustrated. Where I work, my pay is always smoothed, giving me 75 hrs each pay, getting paid bi-weekly. Well nooo, they want each week and hours worked and money earned. So the mission started, I had to go find my planner which was god knows where in this house that looks like a bomb hit it. Finally, I found it after 1 hr of searching. Then I had to go back for the past yr and look at all the weeks and work out how many shifts, how many hrs. blah, blah blah! Then tell them all this.

Anyway, after about 3 hrs of this torture I finally finished it, realizing that maternity leave is only 15wks then I'll bump into parental leave, which is 35 wks, so this fun starts all over again in another 13 wks. UGH!

31 Weeks

Well I finally went out and bought a crib yesterday. It's an oak colored one, which matches the color of our bedroom set, since baby has to room in with us because we've run out of room in our house~! Anyway, I have to go out and buy a bedding set to go with it. I'm sure I'll get that done by next week. It's making the fact that we're going to be parents again in another 9 wks a reality. I am still in disbelief half the time, even though I can feel her moving and get quite obviously bigger.

I unfortunately seem to have been struck with morning sickness again. I woke up the past 4 days feeling really nauseated and have a hard time trying to eat and keep it down. I'm sure it will let up eventually. I have another OB appointment next week. Then I think it will be every 2 weeks. I will get the results back from that glucose test too.

Sad news

Today my husbands grandmother was diagnosed with lung cancer. Pretty crappy news. She had been experiencing symptoms now for over 2 months but the reality really hit home today when she got her diagnosis. Also she was told she should contact palliative care now. It's an inoperable type located right around the major blood vessels. She's going to start chemotherapy and radiation soon, I just hope it's not too hard on her.

Groundhog Day

Here's a pic of the girls. R&E.

So apparently that good old groundhog has seen his shadow, indicating an early spring! Well I sure hope that's true, I can't stand winter. Although we haven't had much of a winter this year. Yesterday in total we got 48cm of snow! The kids had a blast. R&E went jumping in the snow and digging tunnels, and the boy he just played around on his own. :P

Baby moves in such different ways. Whatever it is she does, like press on my bladder, I instantly have to go to the bathroom. I just can't wait to not have to run to the potty all the time. Sometimes I wish my hubby could catheterize me just for one night of uninterrupted sleep.

Wow, Almost 7 Months!

I can't believe it's February. I'll be 7 months on the 10. This last part of pregnancy seems to slow down a lot. As eager as I am to have this baby, I am at the same time scared. I know I have been through this 3 times already but I feel like this is the first time I've been pregnant. I was watching one of those pregnancy/birth shows and was watching the woman, screaming in agony and I had a sudden fear come over me. It was like I could feel the pain all over again. Mind you my last delivery was wonderful (I finally got my epidural, which I highly recommend). She was a breeze. But as the nurses say, "the road is paved". Haha. So as my due date quickly approaches, the more I think of the labor, the more I think I can hang on for the next 2 months.

Just wondering, if anyone else is pregnant reading this, have any of you outgrown your maternity clothes?? I was putting on a shirt yesterday and it doesn't even cover my belly. I only have 2 that cover me now, so I am thinking I have to get out shopping for a couple of tops to fit me :(

On a lighter note, we are getting yet another major snow storm here. Actually the worst this winter. We got 20 cm dumped on us last night and are expecting another 40-50cm today. My hubby actually went to work this morning too. I made him take the cell phone so I could make sure he got there safely, and he did. I of course convinced the children that they should go outside and check out the snow. So I bundled them all up and within 10 min they were back in the house. lol. It was cute but didn't last long, not that I thought it would.
